Confirmed you can screenshot with the first method. If MM supports that hotkey I don't know what needs to be done to enable it. Apparently I took a screenshot a few months ago and forgot .

I skimmed some posts. It sounds like a screenshot feature got added at some point. Run whatever, pull up XMB, go to photos, select take screenshot, and then save it. I also saw mention of game managers offering it (start + r2?) for multiman.

The plugin is proof of concept and may or may not work. It will be limited considering how weak the PS3 HW is.

will have to check that out.
tried the xmb screenshot method and it worked.
will have to try the plugin on another day.

so I installed the Mysis plugin on my ps3 today but I'm not seeing any way of using it. it did install but I don't see any launcher on the xmb or any options to record.

Gameplay recording:

Alot more PS3 games recording now + PSP Games/Minis + PlayView + PS1 Games (via MM)
Switched from game memory container to custom 5-7 MB memory container
Added quality selection (Right Analog Stick):
Hold Up: high quality (MJPEG Encoder + 1280x720 Resolution), bigger file size (.avi),7 MB
Hold Left : quality (MJPEG Encoder + 640x368 Resolution), bigger file size (.avi), 5 MB - (works with save game utility, thx neozero)
Hold Down good quality (M4HD Encoder + 640x368 Resolution), smaller file size (.mp4),6 MB
Note: (Default: High quality, change BEFORE start recording)
Hold R3: Recording start
Press PS-Button: Recording Stop
Note: Recording will stop and notify automatically after ps-button is pressed. It is not advised to use high/good quality with save game utility or with other plugins while recording! Feel free to report more tested games at: http://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/edit/Talk:Rec_plugin

Dump current Disc Hash Key
Enable Secure File ID catcher

no it doesn't. I tried several games I tried the buttons just like it was written but I didn't even get any conformation that it was recording or stopped recording I also didn't see any video files saved on my hdd.

I'm done messing with it, it just doesn't want to work for me so I removed it I might install WMM and check it out though as it has a record plugin

got WMM installed(had to make a few minor adjustments to it) started a game and tried the select+R3 combo got a notification that it started recording I played for a bit hit the combo again but didn't get the notification. that it stopped
I checked to see if it recorded it didn't so I looked at that one post you posted on psxplace and tried using the select+R3+L2+R2 combo with success the 368p mpeg4 recording looks a little crappy but it recorded I did notice a few minor lag spikes but works better than the crap I did on my desktop.
also I got artemis working turns out I had to use a previous version of it only problem now is the cheats I want to use on a game I have don't work so I need to find one(s) that will.
