Couldn't remember if you needed to patch for pseudo boot. Been ages since I looked at that and I never used pseudo.
Spoiler warning:
Ok it's raining atm so I'm not going out to cut down the tree right now.
Spoiler warning:
So I'm looking at the patch notes (for up to and including v1.5).
Seems there are some mods besides just translation...
A bunch of resolution changes
Official 4mb cart support
Widescreen switch
Spoiler warning:
Found a note about pseudo for this translation...
So having the 4mb cart option enabled only really works with an official cart I guessIf you encounter incorrect operation of the game when using "Pseudo Saturn Kai", then you need to disable auto-detection of the 4 MB expansion card. To do this, hold down the "L+R" button combination during animating the "Sega Saturn" logo. But keep in mind that in this case, you will not be able to speed up data loading.![]()
Spoiler warning:
I've been playing it for about 30 minutes or so via fenrir. How far along do I need to check?
Spoiler warning:
I've played right into the start of chapter 2 now, after you destroy the statues in Yuzu Village and free the villagers from being possessed or whatever.
I've spent hours playing this nowCan't see any issues so maybe you should disable the 4mb ram auto detect like I posted earlier.
Spoiler warning:
I'll give disabling that a try, thanks for testing it. I see I missed the folder titled Pseudo Saturn Kai Fix.

Yeah I didn't have to disable it when running the game via fenrir. I grabbed a v1.5 pre-patched copy from cdromance.
I haven't used widescreen mode though.
Spoiler warning:
I'm sure I've read notes for other games that have issues with pseudo as well, I just can't remember which ones. Might be games patched to utilise 4mb ram (or even 1mb) like this one![]()

I'm not sure why it isn't a section in the regular readme though.
Might be because even though a lot of people use pseudo it's a cheap hack and the carts damage the slot. So it's frowned upon by purists, the cart slots are damaged easily and the genuine carts won't work properly mainly due to AR's being used.
When I say cheap... it was cheap in the past but now the Chinese realise they can charge more for cheap AR carts so it's impossible to find them for like $20aud or less.
Anyway more people would emulate now than use real hardware.
Even with DC its uncommon to see people asking questions about getting a game to work by burning a disc.
Spoiler warning:
Fair enough. Mine still reads official carts, but I rarely remove the AR cart.
Yeah the junker I got with the broken power button (which now has fenrir) has a stuffed slot. Hasn't been an issue for me really as I have the other console plus the junker doesn't even have a battery in it. I just reset to fenrir menu and backup memory to sd card before turning the console off. Then restore it when I boot it up whenever.
So I'll probably never bother fixing it.
The other console with modchip - the cart slot is ok.
If you have a read online there are people that have hard wired 3 in 1 cart to the mb because their slot is completely fucked and they need it to play burnt gameshilarious
