If you want a handheld gaming device, I'd say get a steam-deck, I haven't tried it or own one, but everyone that has one, loves it.

I was put off by the price. At that point I'd just get a Steam Deck.

I think it was getting close to 1k (I'm assuming usd) for a 1TB version? 500GB version didn't seem good value either, I mean I doubt these things wouldn't have anything you could upgrade... maybe ssd if you're lucky. But I suspect with a device like this the ssd is probably soldered onto the board as would be the ram.

not sure but they have a "new" lineup so the prices vary https://gbatemp.net/threads/ayaneo-a...ing-pc.612259/
there's also a couple other brands one is ayn loki https://gbatemp.net/threads/ayn-anno...at-299.613003/
    there's also anbernic, one-netbook gpdwin
but for a price to performance ratio steam deck is the best(I hate being on the bandwagon but it really is)

Well instead of releasing RE Saturn2PS4 I decided to dive into a bit of a run, Chris scenario.
Discovered that my USA build would crash... not just randomly, but when you die the game goes back to title FMV and then it would throw out a PS4 error just before the start/load selection came up.
So I did a PAL build, for some reason it seems a bit better to me idk maybe I'm just imagining things but it seems to be emulating a tad faster
Anyway, just made one more config tweak and the crash error after death has gone I've played until after Yawn encounter so I'm at the guardhouse doing stuff.

    Only bad things now are:

*Options from title screen still doesn't work - default audio is stereo anyway and you can map buttons in emu menu so not much lost here.

*Sometimes with transitions (doors, ladders and things like that) you will see what looks like FPS drops, but idk if that's normal for the Saturn ports or if this is an emu issue.

*Files - when you pick up a file/book for the first time there seems to be a tiny bit of corruption up top but it's only small and doesn't come down anywhere near enough to interfere with text. If you look at same files via your inventory I haven't noticed the same issue though.

I'll probably play some more, this version actually seems a little harder than what I remember of the PS1 original. I tried using the knife a bit but it isn't OP at all... zombies can grab and kill you pretty easily. Zombies aren't easy to kill either, sometimes one shotgun shell from point blank range will decapitate but there doesn't seem to be any auto aim here, so if you're off a bit when you're that close they'll grab and bite.
Just about everything is harder to kill really. I haven't gone up against ticks yet but they're meant to be deadly

It's the same game but it sorta feels different as well.

I'll probably use this new config to short test USA and Biohazard builds too.

I wouldn't pay half that for such a device or a phone . I'm mildly interested in the Steam Deck but I'm hoping it'll get new revisions (definitely seems popular enough for that) and I'd pick up an old model for cheap .

My "new" Nokia phone cost less than $150aud. It does have a 6" screen though and the main camera is ok for my needs. Still gets android updates too so it's isn't horribly out of date... yet

Probably about the most I'd want to pay for a phone .

I gotta admit I'm interested in the steam deck(or at least the idea of it) if I could afford it I'd strongly consider it, it is a lot cheaper than a new gaming pc.

Depends on what you're wanting out of it.

If you look at the chart for that stupidly priced Chinese handheld, a lot of games are only around 30fps anyway. I think Bioshock remaster was over 100fps but the few games that will run over 30fps will only eat your battery.

I don't see the point at all really. I mean if you're stuck on a train all the time I guess...

If you're looking to buy a handheld PC that is mostly only going to do 30fps just because it's a cheap option for a PC... then maybe you should just consider getting a last gen console.
PS4's can be exploited so you don't have to buy games, much like masterrace piracy.

XB1 and gamepass sub will get you a heap of stuff, even some nice oldies with enhanced visuals.

Someone could compromise at 45, 60, or some other supported refresh rate for the display. Running uncapped would be pointless.
