Being Sunday the post office is closed, which I expected but there's 2 mail drop boxes in front if it I can shove packages into. I grab the handle on the 1st mailbox and try to pull it open, and it doesn't budge. Locked? Weird. I try the 2nd box, and it doesn't budge either... There's no way the post office locked these boxes... I push open the lettermail crack on the 1st box, and the drop section is filled with packages that are too big to drop, and letters mashed into any open gaps. That's nuts, I peer into the second dropbox and there's just one package jammed into it. So I pull hard on the door, and boink, it opens. There a package right there, it doesn't seem to want to back out, but a bit of a twist and I'm holding some strangers package that's certainly worth more than postage (usually like $25 round here). I set it on top of the drop boxes and push my parcel in. I was a little worried the drop box was full, but mine goes in harmlessly. I look up at the stray parcel. What, do I steal it? Do I leave it on top of the box for somebody else to steal? I give it a bit of shake, if seems like something small/light in the middle with a ton of air-fill. I set one corner of the box against the post office wall and push the corner in a half-inch, set the box in the drop slot and it falls in effortlessly. I considered saving the 2 other packages in the other drop box, but despite some more vigorous trying that one is totally jammed up, all the mail made that stuck pretty well, so I just walked away.
