The speed I'm getting will only be 40-50Mbps at best anyway and slower than that in the evenings (peak times) due to congestion...kids raping bandwidth and people using netflix etc causes that. Overnight and the mornings it should be ok though.

If I wanted a higher speed than that I'd have to move into the city and I'm not doing that
Best speed in the city tops out at 100Mbps so it still isn't super fast like you can get in Singapore.
At least one major telco has even stopped offering the 100 plans now, this place is a fucking joke.

Yeah I think I still have a few 2 day trial cards and maybe one 14 day card I'm not sure if they're all valid tbh. I'll know when I try them.
I did have more but gave some to my sister's kids and some other people over the years.

I think that would do rather well. I used to have a 75 plan (300 now) and was perfectly fine for Xbox stuff when I rarely deigned to play something online even at peak hours when I had that. No matter what though shit happens. Dropped connections or whatever but they're fairly rare even half way across the world for me at least.

I wish I could get better, but that's the highest tier speed wireless towers offer here atm. Maybe there will be higher speeds in the future, afaik the technology is capable of it.
Only plus side is this particular wireless cell doesn't have thousands of people using it unlike some others around the country. Regardless it still sees some congestion, especially right now as many kids are doing school from home and also some people are working from home.

ADSL connections running through the local exchange top out at around 8Mbps, with different hardware it could run higher but it was never going to get any upgrades after the construction of the wireless tower was announced years ago. My current connection is way under that 8Mbps

Thankfully Canada had the foresight to run some fibre optics across the country 40 years ago or whatever. We're a huge country unfortunately but along the border it's not bad for Internet speeds.

Yeah no government here ever had the brains to do something like that years ago. They're been building a bs NBN for a few years now but it's just rubbish, a mix of fibre to the node and crap plus wireless towers for country areas. It was an outdated idea before they even started building it, it isn't cheap but the argument for implementing it was that it's cheaper than running fibre to every single household.

We have the same issue of distance, the country is quite large but the majority of the population is in the state capital cities. They get the best connections but the top speeds aren't like Singapore which has had 1Gbps for fucking years.

Cost isn't an excuse imo, in a country like this the money should be spent and seen as an investment for the general economy, education and health. All of those things improve with higher connection speeds.

Sometimes when I rant about this and other issues over here, older people (like friends of my folks etc) say I should go into politics
A joke yeah, but seriously I could never do that anyway because...
    1. politicians are arseholes
    2. no point, I could never be a senator because I'm a dual citizen. I can't see any scenario where I would want to renounce my Irish citizenship.

Now that Fallout 76 got that Wastelanders update I'm rather tempted to try it out.
Is the game heaps better Zal?

I think it's worthy enough now to call it Fallout 5.

Having NPCs was something that should've been there from day 1.

Probably. But at least they didn't make you pay for it. I got the vanilla game on sale physical for 19.99 some time ago and the updates work so it's all good. Just took some time.

I've got the physical Tri edition. Can't remember if it was new or not now, but it was dirt cheap otherwise I wouldn't have bothered.

I was lucky enough to catch a one day sale at Bestbuy and if you got it cheap too then there's no reason not to play it. Even before all this you could have fun getting to level 40 without playing with other people. Yes it's always online and you could see another player run by but it's not intrusive and doesn't eat up to much bandwidth if you're just running around on your own.

Edit: That being said I've had server drops on occasion but seems to stabilize after a couple of tries if need be. Saves happen alot so chances are you wouldn't lose more than a few minutes progress anywayz.

    Does RDR2 have online mode?
I have played the game through (not 100% completed though) but can't remember now. Surely it must have it.
