Xbox? There's more than one emu but yeah they're useless. I think one runs a handful of commercial games but probably still issues with those anyway.
But Xbox softmod isn't overly difficult, and Xbox 360 jtag/rgh can run Xbox games even ones not officially supported (using hacked emu files). So there isn't as much demand as a system that has working PC emus, but a lot more demand than most people think.

Yeah jtag/rgh isn't simple though. Well some models are easier than others but it's a hardware mod/exploit.
Coupled with the fact that it's emulation anyway you're better off using an original Xbox imo.
