America is the home of the mullet, so it was redundant to mention the stupid hair. And the mullet is only the tip of that iceberg...
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
Opened up my comp and cleaned it out today, I should probably do that more than once a year.![]()
Spoiler warning:
I am baffled by how much you guys know about games. You are trading refs to things I can't even catch here. I don't see how it's possible to hold such a massive amount of game trivia in your head, but then, you guys probably don't know how to play thesaxophoneguitar solo to "Rockin' Around Teh Christmans Tree"
... Lordy McGordy, I wish I'd taken up a profession that was worth a dang
edit: also, allergic reaction to the dust in the remodel site yay
Officially sick of your sense of humor forever, fuck off
I don't think Asbestos has been a legal construction material in America for some time. Also, it takes prolonged exposure to it over long periods of time to cause lung cancer (frankly I will get it in about 10 years if I don't stop smoking). Nope, I'm allergic to plain old dust mites, or, my other theory is that I simply overworked myself without sleep or food to the point where I have caught a cold virus or some such.

Asbestos was probably still being used in the 60's and maybe even the 70's. Are you pulling down a brand new building?

I don't know what your situation is, but if you're working off the books you could be dealing with anything.
Spoiler warning:
From the construction material used and the state of the concrete which is already there, it seemed to be a modern construction job. I am fairly certain as well that asbestos inhalation must be done continually over time for it to eventually make one sick. The windows also do not seem old enough to have been built that long ago. I think I'm ok. Plus, I did work myself half to death. Willing to bet it is mostly exhaustion at play.
If it's fairly modern then you're probably ok.
There isn't any proof that it needs to be long term exposure. People have got sick many years after having what is claimed to be brief exposure (as in working on one site for a matter of weeks), some of those people never even smoked or anything else like that...although obviously given their age they would've been exposed to secondhand (environmental) smoke.
It's risky stuff. But then so is smoking![]()
