Not much.
It has a large library of games but besides that it's rather poor hardware wise.
Anything cross platform will obviously look better on PC and even Xbox.

Not really. Depends on the game though. A lot would be 480p and still not look right on a 720 or 1080 tv even though it would switch modes to 480. Again though it depends on the game. Some you hold a couple of buttons while loading to access the higher res or something, others in menu options and those with widescreen support will fit a little better etc, but overall I didn't think it was all that great.

I know GT4 has progressive mode and I think Tourist Trophy does as well.

Anywho was fiddling with Dolphin and Rogue Squadron 2 seems to work now with a certain revision I nabbed. Still sucks though

Everything seems to work in game. Menus are a little fucked but you can still see what you're doing. The third level - Hoth was unplayably slow though. Then again I'm only on a little core2 so maybe something modern would be fine.

May as well give it a shot. Should be able to find one online for 10 bucks or so.

I had all sorts of issues with GT4 using it. Certain things may be better you'll have to look up comments per specific game most like.

It depends very heavily on the deinterlacing ability of the TV. Other than that it would enable you to run the pitiful handful of progressive scan capable games on the system.
