I just looked this up (after playing some Lost legacy).
You don't need to buy anything for the Xbox One controller. Well, I wouldn't need to anyway.
I have plenty of usb cables of various types and also rechargeable AA batteries. It's actually less of a hassle than 360 since you can play and charge without buying a special cable...not that I ever bothered getting the cable for 360 I just swapped out batteries (I've always had plenty of them, AAA too).
Sony on the other hand have a battery built in for DS3/4 and give you no options at all. I remember back when I got my first PS3 I was playing a game wirelessly, battery got low and then died. Game/console didn't pause automatically (I can't remember what game it was now). That never happened to me on 360 but I'm not sure if it's impossible.
