The whole business of upgrading hardware all the time becomes boring after a decade or two. If you aren't playing current PC games you don't have to spend anywhere near as much on a PC and don't have to upgrade to a new one all the often.

A new console is an upgrade. You can choose not to upgrade a PC and still play new games.

I mean obviously I love video games, but if I was playing for the story (beyond stuff like loving the Yakuza story for how absurd and soap opera-y it is), well...just lol.

You probably need to actually play it properly. I did originally have the PS3 basic version but never touched it, got the PS4 version and thought it was good.

I just think it's funny to say I care about graphics a ton and then not play on PC, that's all. Like I'll live with Last of Us on PS3 if I decide to give it another go. Obviously PS3 graphics are shit and have been for a long time but I have no problem playing PS3 games.

I think our PC upgrade cycle has been every 5-ish years. Not all that different from a console run. PS3 came out in 06 sure but it took 2+ years to gain traction and the PS4 came out in 2013.

Consoles don't have much in the way of settings. That's why many people prefer them.

Look it another way. A lot of people prefer automatic cars but I don't.
I prefer my gaming to be less painless and more comfortable.
I also like watching movies at home instead of going to the theatre.

You don't need to run at max settings to outpace the consoles? Once you've got a system setup that's better, it's better, it's not complicated.

These days, using a console is almost the same. Slow Sony drive read speeds, slow Sony dl servers etc... It used to be that having a console was much more of a plug and play experience but that's more or less changed since gen 7, particularly in non Nintendo consoles. Patches, installs etc...
