Currently my favorite game would have to be Final Fantasy 10. The ending made me cry, and not many games are able to do that to me.

Ghosts 'n' Goblins

My local leisure center was a two minute walk from my house as a little kid, so I was allowed to go there by myself when I was quite young. (there were zillions of staff members and most of them knew me and the local 'troublemakers' as they semi-jokingly called us)
They had a few arcade machines dotted round the place that werent changed very often. The ones I loved watching the bigger kids play- and then playing when I got a bit older and bigger were-

Ghosts 'n' Goblins - of course
Golden Axe - overrated imho
Track and Field - I'm so bad at this!
Willow - so good! Lot's of people seem to have missed this one. Great game!
Rastan - amazing game! Music and sfx... gush*
1942 - great game, but I was always really shit at it.

Ghosts 'n' Goblins just always seemed like magic to me as a little kid! When I learned how to get past the Red Arremer of the first stage!.. Pshhhh! UNBELIEVABLE!!! There were lots of BIG BOYS who couldn't even do that!

...

I could go on for hours- and probably would if I'd had a couple more beers, but yeah, I love it! Even though I can complete it on two or three credits every time, even though I probably only play it once or twice a year now, even though the majority of my friends hate it with a passion,(I think maybe you had to be there at the time; maybe?)

Ghosts 'n' Goblins it'll always be a bit magic to me!
