computer gaming = good luck with the headaches, reward IS the basic to a far better game than a fixed hardware environment.
modular, room for developers to be lazy due to excessive HW capacities.
also plenty of room for game modifications with equal, or better quality.
computers ARE the basis for any development.

console gaming = a quick shoot-yer-shit experience for getting the game running
extremely limited hardware environment forces developers to be creative within that environment.
game modifications are limited in reflection, but the end user will have little to no difficulty in using games on said HW environments.

granted, nowhere near as spectacular vs a computer version of a game (not an export, written properly for whatever platforms from the ground up at he start) but the setup n computers can be bullshit to say the least vs console gaming.
