Prices for the really old consoles over here is a little stupid, really hard to find stuff at garage sales now too. I can't be bothered getting up a 5am on Sat/Sun to compete with the seagulls.

Easier to just look at refurbished/pre-modded local stuff on ebay or import something from Japan.

Yeah I haven't bought any retro stuff for ages. In hindsight I'm glad I grabbed a bunch of SNES and Mega Drive games when I visited the US a few summers back. Mostly eBay and Amazon scores so I probably overpaid for some of it by US standards at the time, but it was still dirt cheap compared to what they cost here. And that was BEFORE everything went totally crazy.

I mean seriously, I just checked US eBay when I was writing that post. A boxed NTSC copy of Super Metroid now sells for 4-5 times what I paid. And I only bought it four years ago...
