I have always been a castlevania fan and the only ones that I have played and don't like are the N64 ones and lament of innocence.

nope the last 1 I played was portrait of ruin but I was having problems emulating it so I didn't get very far into it.
I wouldn't say I hated lament either but it felt too much like a button mashing beat em up for my liking(it kinda felt like capcom made it)
edit. I also played dracula X chronicles but I don't consider that a "new" game just a remake.

Oh definitely. Much like Lords of Shadow it's best to view them as different games and not Castlevania games.
