That's fine if 99% of your country lives on candles and shits in a bucket. Also those primarily come from hydro power. Hydro power is neither clean nor particularly sustainable on a large scale. We're flooding a good chunk of this province to power a tiny chunk of America's eastern seaboard. We're currently partway through one of the biggest hydro expansions to occur on this part of the world. And we still have a fuck ton of nuclear reactors backing that up. And yet fossil fuels are still being burned.
To note, look at how much of China had to get flooded to even put a dent in their power demand. About 10 states would be underwater just to power 3 or 4 mid sized ones.
And it'd still be emitting greenhouse gas because hydro happens to do that.
