I know first hand the crappy games we used to have and how expensive they were back then when there were no emulators and you had to actually pay full price for them because online shopping wasn't even a thing.
Average quality now is way higher. And we had expansions back then, pretty much what non-cosmetic DLCs are now. Nothing new under the sun.

Once again you are being too stubborn.

I don't think he's stubborn. I just think he's so malnourished it's affecting his memory.

virgin media broadband free upgrades for customers are set to start in October 2015.

The upgrades will see those with the 50 Mbps product upgraded to 100 Mbps, 100 Mbps to 200 Mbps and 152 Mbps to 300 Mbps, though as with other upgrades Virgin Media is more vague about what will happen to upload speeds.

Huh, a virgin who gives it away for free.

    That's a rarity.

    Pay full price?

We used to swap cassette tapes at school with the latest games. You could get free games bundled with computer magazines, then there was the local car boot sales

Seriously though, a lot of old Atari 2600 games were around £40 in the 80's, and most of them were shite. Spectrum games were cheap though, and it's still my favourite retro computer. Jet Set Willy was released unfinished, remember the attic bug? They had to release a set of pokes to fix it.

Oh god I remember Official Nintendo Magazine. They was so biased. I remember them pretty much giving every N64 game brilliant scores because there weren't as many out at launch

He's not himself when he's hungry.

He should also consider obeying his thirst.

That magazine was amazing in the SNES days. It was only official in the loosest sense of the word back then but I'm still surprised what they got away with until Nintendo put their foot down. They even had a Seal (of Quality!) mascot who would outright verbally abuse people on the letters page.

Most likely, old man mentality .

I bought games that were worth it and were worth every penny, I'm just a emulation enthusiast.

I can agree with this and its mostly good drink and sweets.

My memory is utter shite but why do you say that its my memory?
THE BEST METHOD to run PSX games (and everything else for that matter) is via Retroarch - http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/
If you have any questions on how to set it up on Windows please feel free to ask, its very easy.
