hey gobb I tried that app you linked to a couple pages back but it's only for converting audio/video downloading audio/video from youtube ect and ripping dvds. i didn't find any options to capture video from device so far I've only found 2 programs that do it. the one I tried was shit
it was way to basic I couldn't even resize the preview window and it's performance was terrible. debut works pretty well aside from frame loss at times and the weird frame speed ups I was experiencing last night. I think I might mess around more with the encoding and see what happens. I know the h264 encoding lags pretty bad and the mpeg4 seems pretty stable.

Once I find a nother capture program il let ya know but you really should fix OBS's directx error and give it a spin since that shit is exactly what you were looking for.

the only problem with OBS is that it encodes with h264 and that encoding turns my recording into a slideshow as I experienced with debut encoding with h264
if it allowed other forms of encoding I'd try to fix the problem I was having and try it again.
