주세요 달콤한 그 맛 ice cream cake~ Still studying Korean pretty seriously and trying to get as much of my daily media intake in the language as possible.Torn between whether this is a fantastic pop song or just stupid and annoyingly earworm-y. Maybe a little of both. Can't stop listening to it either way. :'D The lyrics are pretty sleazy and the verse and the chorus sound almost like they've come from different songs and have been awkwardly bolted together, but I kind of like the weird, slightly dischordant chord change that links them together.
Makes it sound a little different to a bunch of similar pop songs.
Unrelated note, but I really think more and more that, from the perspective of a monolingual English native speaker, Korean is the hardest language I've ever studied. As a Japanese speaker who has also dabbled in Mandarin I have such a huge headstart on nearly everything in the language that I've been able to progress pretty quickly, but it's still been a bit of a headache at times, and I can only imagine how scary it would be if you were coming at it as an English native speaker with no background in East Asian languages. It's really similar to Japanese in terms of the difficulties it presents, only it's like somebody turned up the difficulty setting a few notches, so that things that are easy in Japanese become difficult in Korean, and things that are already difficult in Japanese become even more complex in Korean. :'D I guess you can pretty much get by with hangeul in this day and age, so at least you don't have to worry about Chinese characters like you do with Mandarin or Japanese, but Chinese characters are at very worst a mixed blessing for foreign learners, and in pretty much every other way I think Korean is by far the toughest of the three languages. Rapidly developing a great deal of respect for the foreign TV talents you sometimes see on Korean TV who have mastered Korean as their first foreign / East Asian language. Not sure I'd have the patience and determination without the headstart that I have.![]()
Erik Satie- Gymnopedie No. 1
Some people think it's melancholy in nature. Though, I find it very relaxing. It invokes the memory of sitting by a warm fireplace in the evening watching the snow fall under the pale glow of the street lamps outside.

I Am Coming Quickly
20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.”
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
