Plateau? Plate tectonics? Platter of biscuits?

As long as you weren't meaning to say "controls," because then you'd be bitterly disappointed

Ah, right. Factor 5 wasn't around long enough to patch those in... Too bad, the Rouge Squadron games were pretty good.

Check the messages on your XBone, they're sending out codes for beta access. I got mine the other day but haven't tried it yet.

Grinding in Souls games requires playing the given game more than once. If you find it repetitive, simply, play it once and don't grind anything, you'll have a fantastic experience not repetitive at all
Dead Island on the other hand offers very little replay value aside from using the other characters. No NG+, no different endings, etc. You can't really compare them..
I'm not a huge fan of either but Demon Souls is waaaaay better than Dead Island.

Maybe I just plain suck That sort of thing isn't uncommon with jrpgs anyway.

Not saying I hate the Souls games, but I gave up on Demon's Souls just after starting NG+ because the difficulty just jumped up a bit for my liking and I was sick of the grinding.

I was pointing out that grinding is repetitive, and just happened to use Souls as an example of repetitive grinding. Obviously the games are different. I have no idea why you would assume I would claim the games have similarities.

If you find DI side missions repetitive then don't do them. Neither game is that long really if you concentrate on just getting through and ignore everything else.
It was not an assumption, it was you who tried to establish a comparison between them. As I said I think they have absolutely nothing in common.. except that both are videogames If I wanted to compare games, I'd go with Far Cry (bar the original). Dead Island and Far Cry get equally repetitive if you want to do everything.

Souls games don't need excessive grinding in order to beat them once, it's more a matter of skill, being cautious and learning the enemies attack patterns.

Trophies associated aside, I try to do everything the game has to offer to me, so not doing side missions isn't an option, I'm afraid. When I give my opinion on a game it's based on the whole thing, not just what I felt like playing.

I agree, both can be fun if you know beforehand what are you going to find when you boot them so you don't get wrong expectations, but the Souls games are superior in every single aspect.

Indeed. I had enough fun with both of them. Still need to play Sark Douls. But old PC Engine shmups are now getting top billing.

I watched all of walking dead in these past 3-4 days. Wanted to see how they measure up compared to telltale's series. It did get somewhat better from season3 onwards, but telltale's still way better. At least telltale's season 1.

Whelp, gotta go back to... whatever it was doing before...

    What was I doing before?

Registered. Hopefully I get a code. For some reason I thought they were just choosing people at random and messaging them a code on Live. Didn't realise you had to sign up. Derp.

Thanks, hope I can get one. I love me some Gears.
