I usually clear the opening levels with relative ease, and then get stuck on the second to last or last level. There often seems to come a point where the amount of work required to finish the game for a player of my skill level doesn't really seem worth the reward of actually finishing it. :'D
Heh. I'm trying to 1CC it, so amplify the pain and annoyance when I would normally just be able to continue. I beat the game on the standard settings (a fairly harsh 3 continues) awhile ago, but 1CC'ing is gonna be a bizzzzitch.

It depends on the game I suppose, I think anyone could beat most, because most offer infinite continues but there are exceptions obviously like Mars Matrix.

Unrelated: I'm surprised at the reviews Fury Road is getting.

With something like FFXII, I'd say play it in either language (actually, I think I might even have liked FFXII a little better in English~ ), but in FFX's case, I think the Japanese track is definitely still the better of the two.

That being said, the English dub still isn't that bad, and it's not at all something like Grandia or Arc Rise Fantasia where the dub is so awful that it comes close to spoiling the entire game. So I wouldn't call it a deal breaker or anything. Also, I might be a little biased because I tend towards media in its native language, whatever that language might be. Up to you, really. You could always google videos of the two dubs, and see if the difference is significant enough to you to outweigh the appeal of the PS4 version? Pretty sure there will be playthroughs of both on Youtube.
I muted the voices in Arc Rise.

I think Japanese voice work has been declining lately but maybe I'm just crazy.

I forgot how much of a handful kittens are. My girlfriend and I decided to adopt one a couple of weeks ago, and now my hands and arms are covered in scratches and I haven't slept properly in days. :'D I turned on the electric blanket and put him under the duvet on my lap, though, and now he's sound asleep. Too cute, and so worth all the scratches and sleepless nights.

On the subject of dogs my family got a Samoyed puppy last November and now she is growing and she is massive, well for us considering we've only ever had small dogs, nice natured dog, not remotely violent and does not attack our hens, a little bit too afraid though.

Honestly better off that way. I think you know a dub is bad when you'd rather have no voices at all. :'D I would have muted the voices in most PS1 era RPGs too had I had the option.

Haven't really played enough modern games to say, to be honest. I do find a lot of modern anime voice work annoying now that you mention it. Though that could have as much to do with subject matter and the types of characters that are popular as the voice work itself, given that a lot of the actors are the same as they were during the 90s.

Yeah, I think that's my problem as well. I hate continuing in SHMUPS, and usually just quit after one credit. Even though continue spamming is usually the best way to get to know a SHMUP quickly, and the quickest way to get good enough to 1CC a game.

Me too! Pleasantly surprised, mind. Always liked the original series, and looking forward to it now.
