Yes it uses Ad-hoc emulation and it works very well for what games are currently supported , from my knowledge you can not get it online with a android device or whatever, needs to be on a computer.

Its not hard to get it going at all, just takes a little research since they have yet to streamline the online functionality , you currently need the adhoc server client and a VPN like Evolve or Hamchi, I prefer Evolve.
