Nah man, original Xbox is underrated as fuck. Usually got the best versions of multi plats and had some great exclusives too. Even Sega basically threw all their leftover Dreamcast games onto it. Now's a good time to get into it to be honest, everything's really cheap right now and I don't see it lasting much longer.

I bought a second hand xbox but its in a really bad shape. It reads disc -check this- only if I tilt the console, and turn it upside down really fast right before it starts reading the disc. It wont work no other way, and it takes me something like half an hour each time to get it to boot a disc.

Shit man, I'd get a replacement drive or at least soft mod it so you can run games off the hard drive. You're going to destroy your discs if you keep doing that. :/

Oh it's a good system. It's just that most of the games have very minimal value. Good system to game on the cheap with. And then I kept reading your post and saw you addressed that. Honestly I don't know, I feel like the prices would have jumped by now if it was going to happen. PS2 and Gamecube already have.

If you have an old IDE type PC DVD drive you can use that, but it won't fit inside the case iirc. And you will only be able to boot copied discs, so the console needs to be modded obviously.

Well then the good news (for me) is that the console is already hacked and there's some sort of cfw installed on it. The bad news is I wasn't the one who hacked it so I have no idea how to move games to the hard drive. I remember I researched a while when I got the console but I ended up deciding that moving games to the HDD would prove to be harder than the upside down trick, so umm, ... yeah.

But I never thought about the discs, so now I'm thinking maybe I should run the from HDD after all lol. I hope I haven't screwed up the HDD with my fabulous trick.
