I did not care for the art style. I'll probably read the manga one day.

The last anime that blew my mind was Gatchaman Crowds, which basically takes the whole superhero idea, and then turns it on its head in the most perfect way. Soundtrack was amazing too.

I really loved Witch Craft Works as well, which seems like it was going to be a bad magic based harem show, but that never happens, and then the plot constantly collapses on itself. One moment could have the MCs shopping at a store, only for a car to get thrown into the store out of nowhere, start a fight with another character, and cause so much damage that it causes another character to go after the main villain because she thought she did what the MCs actually did and the entire plot she was building up over several episodes just suddenly stopped. This is a regular occurrence in this show, but usually with more giant magical robot rabbits fighting or teenage punks in animal pajamas taking over a school, with most of them smoking. I love it so much.

I'm watching SAO II (Gun Gale) solely because I hate leaving series unfinished.

Probably should finish that off after I trim off my list.
I hear Fool gets really bad in the second season because it starts taking itself seriously. I stopped with about episode four because I'm a bit of a history nerd and couldn't take the udder assassination they did to Joan of Arc.

    I don't care
Anime is generally pretentious or complete nonsense. My relationship with anime is very love/hate.

I still hope it might get another season at some point. It just seemed so unique compared to everything else that was around at the time. The art was gorgeous (but yes, divisive for many people) and it had kind of a weird story, but it was handled in a mature way and it didn't get creepy or try to pander to its audience at all.

    ...

Yeah, pretty sure a second season is never happening.

It was a fun story that ramped up.

I noticed a shit load of hate for The Pilot's Love Song(2014?) but I fucking love that series and anyone who didn't can die.

As for suggestions for getting someone into anime the Of The Stars trilogy of shows is decent. A bit lighter of a commitment first and then you can work them into LOGH. <3

I would prefer it not get a second season honestly. I don't feel like it has much more room to expand without breaking it's path as is.

I liked it. Not in love with it, but it was entertaining. I think if the supporting cast was a bit smaller, or they had more episodes to flesh everyone out, it could have been something wonderful.

There's way more of the manga, but they pretty much knew a second season was impossible with the ending they picked.

But don't lose hope, Durarara is somehow getting a second season! It just took the creation of an entirely new studio!

It needs a second season. The largest complaint I saw was people who would only pay half attention to the story talk about "plot holes" that were already explained during the series which really bothered me.
