Well we have the original Megaman then we have Megaman X which is more hardcore (set in the future of the original megaman where Megaman is killed off by Zero who is one of the main characters in Megaman X)
Then we got Megaman Zero which takes place after Megaman X's story and you play as Zero.
Then we have the Battle Network and Starforce games, they are RPGs and based in their own universes .

Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon makes fun of such things, in an annoying way great game, has a real 80's sci-fi movie theme.

Lol well honestly Superstar Saga really does have a long ass tutorial. But the game is SOOOO long. I still need to finish that game on my WiiU...

Well it's a shooter so idk if you'd be interested. But it's pretty funny. It's a standalone game (you don't need Far Cry 3 to play it). Digital only afaik (PS3/360/PC).
I'll see if I can dig up a decent intro video for you to watch.
