Yeah the Captain was a bit of a pussy/dork. I think the time frame should have been moved ever so slightly forward to the birth of the Federation too and stay away from all those awful time travel/temporal cold war garbage. The Xindi stuff was neat from an action stand point and had some cool starship fights but it was a waste of a season and really doesn't fit in with the rest of the Trek mythos.

Would have been nice to see more exploration and building of the Feds.
