I think it was too much of a departure from the old Tomb Raider games I'm used to and felt like an Uncharted clone.

Seriously, I haven't started it yet. Loved the original TR and out of the newest ones, Legend is probably my favourite. I'd like to think there's still room for the TR games to be more exploring oriented, as they used to be, rather than shooting oriented.

Let Uncharted be Uncharted and let Tomb Raider be Tomb Raider, honestly I preferred the original way Tomb Raider was but the change to a more action-oriented game might because of how gaming has changed in the 10+ years since I've played a Tomb Raider game.

I have the same issue with TR as with Lords of Shadow: I don't care how much of a departure it is from the classic formula if it's still a good game in its own right. But it isn't.

Besides, if I cared about strictly maintaining traditions, I'd hate the new Thief or FF12 or RE4, etc.

I got bored of shooters many moons ago.

But my taste was Gears of War and Battlefield.

I loved GoW, for the most part. Still love Battlefield too. But Titanfall is something brand new, I'm so so so excited for it. It's finally something new in this gaming world.

My last Battlefield experience was with Bad Company 2. Never got into 3 or 4.

Gears of War lost its appeal a few years ago now too.

It's not really new, it's another online FPS with mechs in it.
