FF9, the best cure for insomnia.

It really is good. I'm a little biased though as I first got it a week before it was officially released in NA. There was just nothing like it or at least that I had played at the time. Was blown away just from watching the opening movie. It's not a hard game by any means. Maybe the beginning only if you're not prepared or played many jarpigs before as you don't really have a lot of items and such yet. But yeah once you get out of that city you start your adventure overland and it's a lot of fun. The whole first disc is great. Love doing the Nibelheim area with the mansion and the mountains. Get ready for a super long cutscene thingy when you get to the first town outside the city. If you're playing on an emulator you can just fast forward it though

The mini games aren't all bad either. Some are short and annoying like that stupid CPR thing with the dolphin girl and the parade but some can be fun like the motorcycle chase, snowboarding and of course the battle arena

Also once outside on the world map make sure you have an enemy skill materia equipped and grab matra magic from an enemy just outside the city around the dark part. Run back and forth until you get it. It's handy early on.
Skill Materia eh? I'll have to get that once I get outside the city. I took a little break to play some GW2, I'm still waiting for ESO to download. It's at 79% right now.

Enemy Skill materia. Should be able to find a couple before you leave the city. And when you get hit by the spell you'll learn it. It's like blue magic from other FF games.

I watched Spoony's review series of XIII and also watched a full LP of it a while back (yeah I'm a sucker for punishment) and yes, the game is pretty retarded. It's like the story was written by potatoes, no offense to potatoes.
