I just remember it launching with a couple of decent games but there being pretty much nothing else worth buying for about a year after that. Then again I was 12 and LOL PC MASTER RACE at the time so maybe that's why nothing stood out. MGS 2 and GTA 3 were when it really seemed to take off.
The last console I can think of that genuinely did have a solid launch lineup was the Dreamcast, doubly so if you include everything that came out within the first couple of months. Of course Sega managed to cock everything up approximately five minutes later, but still.Definitely one of the best console launches ever.

I bought this monitor like 4 years ago, it replaced a crappy old CRT. Figured if I'm gonna buy a monitor it might as well be a good one. Also it was like $160, people spend more on their consoles and TVs, and seeing how I've had zero problems with it in the last 4 years I'd say it was a good investment.

THE BEST METHOD to run PSX games (and everything else for that matter) is via Retroarch - http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/
If you have any questions on how to set it up on Windows please feel free to ask, its very easy.
Yeah, I'm rolling with a 32" CRT TV as my computer monitor currently. My nice big Sony Trinitron monitor ended up finally dying on me unfortunately. It had a really nice picture too. Hoping to maybe get a decent LCD TV/Monitor when tax time rolls around.
I'm also hoping to score a Sony PVM monitor sometime in the near future. Something nice to play my NG and Arcade PCBs on.![]()
