I can see it happening. Companies keep rushing consoles and software in spite of completion or proper testing. Nintendo on the other hand follows shortly behind, watching and learning.

Because of all the hype, and the fact that many people prefer Sony over whatever atm, I won't be surprised if there will be some silence here regarding any potential issues.
It's working ok? Rave on about it.
Not working and have to do the warranty thing? Keep quiet about it.

I think it'll come down to how widespread of a problem it is, and how easy the fix is. From what I've been hearing, there have been a couple of fixes that have been found that don't require sending the machine in for warranty replacement. Besides, even with the whole Red Ring fiasco of the last generation, the 360 still dominated the first half of Gen 7.

Yeah, but I never bothered getting a 360 until the issues were minimised, and the console was a lot cheaper (plus larger factory HDD).
Trinity still working perfectly ok.
