Clean mud out from under the guards when it's necessary, and always clean the glass when I grab petrol but that's about it.
Bird shit will mostly wash off when it rains I prefer white cars now anyway (little dents and stuff aren't as obvious).

Meh. I hope I can get a car in 2014. I'm saving up for one. It's just a painfully slow process right now.

I've got an old Mazda in the shed I'm doing a few things to when I get the chance. No hurry to get it registered atm.
I'll have to pull the driveshafts at some stage...may even pull the gearbox to look at the clutch.
Motor seems fine though, hasn't even done 100k yet.

Last time I was doing stuff I noticed the hatch and the petrol flap had cables for remote release, but no levers could be found anywhere in the car itself So after consulting the manual I discovered someone had replaced the carpet at some stage and buried them I found a lump in the carpet near the driver's seat and had to cut them free

I'd love to get a really tidy Vauxhall Corsa B 1.0 now, and when I've outgrown it, put it in a garage, then when I'm older hunt down a 2 litre 'red top' engine and convert it.

Of course, I have no fucking clue how any of this is done, but it would be nice to have a sleeper pocket rocket.

    Spoiler warning:

Those wheels and a Corsa sport spoiler, nothing else done to the exterior.

I drive a Corsa B most of the time (Holden Barina here), it belongs to Mum. Four door hatch 1.4l though, and it has high km's
It isn't fast, but zippy enough. And not expensive to run.

The Mazda could be a little cheaper though...1.3 and it's pretty feckin light.
I could drop a 1.5 into it but that would require a cert afaik...if something needs a cert might as well go a little more hardcore than that imo.

This looks alright for the price, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's in need of work for its next MOT.

The Barina has an Opel emblem on the steering wheel, I can't recall where it's made but probably Spain.
The Mazda is a proper Japanese built one, not Korean or whatever (the later cars were mostly badged as Ford Festiva).

Dad has a Holden Jackaroo, which is a rebadged Isuzu trooper 4wd iirc.

And we still have my Grandfather's old Toyota Corona...it's only about 6 years younger than me, and still on the road

    So no Aussie cars

That's a lot of cars, all that's in my family is a knackered Suzuki Wagon R+ 1.3 2001 Y reg.

Engine (barely) running on 3 cylinders now, I think it's going in the new year. I'll be sad to see it go!

Hmmm 86,000 miles. I can never remember conversion info
But that's going to be like $1200 or something isn't it?

Lol @ airbags. Pain in the arse if it has gone off/been removed/will go off.
With older cars it's better to not have them imo.

Older? I consider a 2001 car to be pretty damn modern.

I'd rather have something from the early 90s.
