I just looked at the announcement and gameplay videos for that one. Looks really cool, but Knack is a fucking ugly in-game character. Like, it would bother me having that as my avatar, because the design is too "busy." Otherwise, I think I would really enjoy it. And even then, that's a horrible reason to dislike a game.

I figured you'd be all over Knack since it's by the guy who made Ratchet and Clank - and we all know you're a big fan of those games

So close to #6 with Borderlands.

Level 46, just got to keep doing that silly buying and selling explot, so boring due to the loading screens, but I want me plat!

Also tempted to get the online pass for Resistance Burning Skies so I can bash out #7 right after. £7.99 is a lot to play for a fucking trophy, why am I so tempted to do this? Am I stupid? ... Yes.

I pre-ordered Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus way back in July. Should be here this month if Amazon's page is to be believed.

I had to do the same thing. I just picked out a movie on Netflix, muted Borderlands, and watched a movie while doing it. It eases the pain.

I do NOT like slice of life.
An episode synopsis should not be, ". . .", and if I skip an episode, I should be confused as hell going into the next one--you could skip roughly half of Gargantia and miss absolutely nothing.
That said, I do prefer anime that are light on fanservice; I prefer meat and potatoes, and the desert should not be equal in size to the meal. (ie. I avoid ecchi) I'm constantly teasing a friend on MAL because she watches mostly stuff aimed at teenage boys.

I am eager for Expelled From Paradise though.

As for VNs, I prefer books, so I've only ever finished Saya no Uta. My only sanctuary from modern anime is old anime. Good ol' campy 90s!
Oh, I wasn't aware Gargantia was like that. You have a link to that MAL blog, btw?

Honestly, you don't even need to go as far back as the 90s. Mid-2000s will do just fine, 2005-2009 was a pretty good time imo, we had Darker than Black, Black Lagoon, Ergo Proxy (I personally didn't enjoy it that much but it at least wasn't the fanservice/moe infested garbage you see today), Kaiji, all of Aria's seasons, Gurren Lagann and so on. I just dunno what the fuck happened with the anime industry in the last couple of years. Maybe I've just grown up.

it's between the "about me" and the coments.
It's the one that isn't an obvious gag.
It's primarily a reaction to the overabundance of school settings and their blatantly identical themes. It's amazing I loved Chuunibyou.

There are a bunch from the last decade I plan to watch, but I always fall back on 90s stuff when I feel burnt out. That's the generation that got me into anime, after all.
As for Darker Than Black, I'm the one guy who didn't like it. Dropped it half way actually. Two episode long arcs just didn't satisfy my need for a strong plot, so I got really bored with the randomness and poor character development.
I'm also the one guy who doesn't like TTGL. I hear it gets darker one episode after I dropped it, but it was just too zany for me to take seriously. They'd have to kill ALL the characters to satisfy me!

Ergo Proxy, on the other hand, almost went on my favorites list. Honestly, I think Dai Sato is just Soraya Saga with a clip-on-penis.

And the problem may not be so much that you've grown up as that the target audiences keep getting younger. Even seinen are set in middle schools these days.

Ergo Proxy was a weird one. I did finish watching it so I didn't hate it but it didn't leave a strong impression on me either.

TTGL doesn't get dark, characters do die but they do so heroically. Dark would be Berserk's Eclipse, not TTGL.

Also it gets really crazy. Like, they use their mechs to literally throw galaxies like shurikens/chakrams in the final battle.

Yeah, read your MAL stuff, I can kinda see where you're coming from. I do enjoy some silly stuff from time to time and T&A doesn't bother me (I have my guilty pleasures), but after a certain point you just get sick of anime being incapable of telling mature/adult-oriented stories anymore.

Btw, maybe it's just me but I can't take shows seriously that deal with drama that doesn't really have much weight. Like, love triangles and slice of life stuff like that. I much prefer it when something apocalyptic happens because then the characters have a very good reason to get all emotional and overly dramatic, since there's a lot more at stake than who gets to sleep with who. This also applies to romance, I find it much more convincing when characters end up as a couple because they went through hell together via some major ordeal. MuvLuv is a very good example of this. Also I believe you should play/read 999 on the DS.

Yeah... I guess I'm rambling here.
