    Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
Ludicrously fast paced swordplay action? Yes, please.
I can save a shit load of money on tatami with this game. Need to do tameshigiri; pop in Revengeance! Seriously, carving shit up is absurdly fun. The story so far is nonexistent; not sure if that's an improvement or not, considering MGS usually has plots that are as great as they are imbecilic.
What really hampers my enjoyment though is that goddamn scoring system. I'd rather just pass through the game naturally than have it constantly judging me. Especially since nerds hold anything less than a perfect score anathema (and since nerds prefer RPGs to action games, I'm seeing a lot of Bs and Cs, which really pisses me off).

It's ridiculously quirky, but I would definitely recommend giving it a go. With, perhaps, the caveat that your Japanese needs to be pretty good. The text is more or less standard JRPG difficulty, but so much of the game is about the characters and setting that I don't think it would be nearly as enjoyable if you didn't get everything language-wise.

Ahh, okies, you meant in Japanese rather than made in Japan. My bad.

Oh, I'm pretty interested in RPGs from other parts of Asia too! I own all of the Fantasia Sango series, and played quite a bit of them while I was studying Chinese, and have a handful of other Korean and Chinese RPGs. Still want to take a serious crack at the languages someday and play through them as something other than a language learner.
Yeah, it'll be a while before I chip into my PS1 list; using AGTH with PC98 and Windows games is just too convenient for me to go back to constant 15 minute breaks to look up kanji combinations. And when I do, there are a couple dozen other games that take priority (KHAMRAI!!!).
As for Fantasia Sango. . . I'm REALLY tempted to order Genso Sangokushi I & II, Falcom's ports of the games, so I don't have to rely entirely on translation tools to play them. . . but they're not cheap, and I do already have Chinese "copies." *cough*

Almost finished my second playthrough of FF Type-0. Now challenging the Agito Tower. And all I can say is... fuck you. A consecutive fight against 100 LV 128 (!!!!!) Tonberrys on the FIRST level? What were they smoking when they thought this up???? Seriously????

Everything Shenmue does Yakuza can do better.
    No it can't.
    Yes it can.
    Not it can't.
    Yes it can.
    No it can't.
Yes it can, yes it can yes it CAAAAAN!!!

Okay, showtuning out of the way, Shenmue is a bit overrated, I think. I mean, sure it's one of the best forklift simulators around, but wandering around getting the same snatches of dialogue trying to figure out who to talk to next, training up fighting skills you hardly use, and the fact that there's hardly any plot progression in the first game AT ALL. . . and Yakuza doesn't have any of those horrible QTEs. (note that I never played Shenmue 2, because it emulates like ass)

WRC Powerslide on 360. Pretty good game. Kind of annoying you have to replay each race 3 times in each class of car mind you. But hey ho, got to extend the gameplay time somehow.

Been playing Farcry 3, and a bit of Dragons Dogma. Just finished all the single player trophies on Farcry 3. I'm going to be attempting to do all the co op missions tonight then I can move onto Dragons Dogma properly.

I'm one of the few who enjoyed Far Cry 2. If FC3 is similar to it as far as the different ways to complete the missions refers, I'll enjoy this one too. Can't really comment too much yet, only a couple of hours into it so far, but it sure isn't the best driving game ever
