I've been informed that gamestop's in my country will not have enough stock on day one to fulfill everyone's preorder, in fact that's gonna take about a week of rapid deliveries (how rapid is still to be seen) to fully take care of everyone who has pre-ordered but this basically means that they'll be calling people to come pick up their console. God damn it.
That sucks, now even if you were one of the first to pre-order and even if you fully paid it off, you'll have to probably camp for your preorder just so you don't get screwed. There's no reason for that, and they shouldn't be putting the preorders on a first come first serve basis, but you know damn well they will.
Speaking of which, I was just informed that Gameslop here in the US is taking preorders again for the PS4 just for two days. Today (7/27) and tomorrow (7/28). So if anyone missed out before, better get to your nearest store and plunk down some cash.
Eh, I've always been an xbox 360 fan, although I have considered buying a ps4 just for the exclusives. Last of us was amazing
How the PlayStation Eye connects your hands and voice to the PlayStation 4
Source:When the PlayStation 4 launches this November, the PlayStation Eye camera will enable you to sign into the console using just your face. Unlike its Microsoft counterpart, Kinect, the Eye won't allow much more control of the system. At least not initially. "At the time of launch, first the face recognition is for the purpose of logging in," SVP and Division President of Business Division 1 at Sony Computer Entertainment Masayasu Ito told Engadget in an interview this afternoon.
Beyond face recognition for log in -- something Sony's still not shown to the press or public -- PS4 users with an Eye will also be able to use voice "from the game page." Ito said, "Game titles could be called in and then the game could start." But in the future, Ito said the PS4's camera will go further. There's no voice or gesture command in the UI beyond what's described above, but he foresees more in-game use. "That's as far as it goes, but continuous updates, it can go deeper. Make it with greater depth. With face recognition, we think about how that could be used in the context of the game," he said. He sadly wouldn't go further, but demos like The Playroom -- a game that's included on the PS4 at launch -- offer an example of how the Eye will work in games.

Sony expects to recoup PlayStation 4 hardware loss at launch
Source:PlayStation 4 hardware will make a loss at launch, but Sony expects to immediately recoup the costs when a typical user also buys a PlayStation Plus subscription and at least one launch game.
Sony Japan executive Masayasu Ito made the comment to Eurogamer today in an interview at the company's Tokyo headquarters.
Eurogamer has heard from well-placed sources that Sony expects to make an approximate $60 loss per $399 unit sold. When presented with the figure, Ito denied it - but only because the company expects a typical user to buy a console with these other items.
Ito would not be drawn on whether more than one launch title would need to be bought before the whole equation resulted in Sony making money, just that the company expected to turn a profit on an average user's initial purchase.
The purchase of one launch title and a Plus subscription would indeed total close to, if not more than, the $60 mark.
But even without the purchase of these items, PlayStation 4 will incur a profit at a sooner point than PlayStation 3, Ito concluded.
Nintendo made a similar comment prior to the launch of Wii U - its console was also sold at a loss but would become profitable with the purchase of a single game.
Last month Sony Computer Entertainment boss Andrew House said he expected PlayStation 4 launch-related losses to come in below those of the PlayStation 3.
Chief financial officer Masaru Kato added at the time that because the PS4 features PC-like architecture - as opposed to the custom components featured inside the PS3 - the cost of production is "much, much smaller".

I am ready for the release. Thankfully the store I preordered at prioritizes preorders by the order of placing down payments. I am number 3.

So that's:
R$3999 / $1850 USD / $1923AU.
I've read a rumour that the games will be cheaper than Australia.
But Xbox One will be:
R$2200 / $1016 USD.
In Chile the PS4 will cost $1700 USD, Argentina it will be $1100 USD.
My GS is just having a regular Midnight Launch. I asked yesterday, he said that they would be calling people in all week before the launch to make sure everything was taken care of, then letting one group of 5 in at a time the night of the launch. So glad I won't be on a waiting list since I preordered mine very late.
So with Drive Club being delayed to 2014 now I'm glad I don't have a pre order.
I'll just get one in January when they're available with ease. I think between now and January I'll just pick up a game every time I get paid, so I've got plenty to play with when I do get one.
If I got one at launch I know I'd be so short on games I'd end up with Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty: Ghosts.![]()
