Thanks, it was really tricky to try to find out myself! I'm pretty glad you could decipher it. It was pretty bothersome not knowing what the title of the song is when it was actually pretty decent. Then I remembered there's at least 2 people here who could figure it out in a heartbeat, guess I was right!

It wasn't me wanting to make it, it was GoB. He basically wanted a Japanese thread. I said I'd be okay with it as long as it was actually educational and about translation/language learning topics, and not just another spammy HO.

These types of special interest threads tend to die out fast though and just pretty much just go on here in the hangout/retro anyways even with separate threads. Just look at stuff like the automotive thread, sports etc. that have little to no activity.

It's something that would definitely be of interest to me personally, especially if it was a general "Ask questions about / discuss learning languages" as opposed to a thread specifically for Japanese. We have quite a diverse range of nationalities here, and I think it could be quite a useful resource. But like Zaladane said, it's about how many people would actually use it.

Just go for it, if it gets closed it gets closed. Not like the people who would most likely be posting there are known for spamming anyway - not that their really is outside the hangouts anyhow.
