Yeah, I guess so.

We grow up with American (and in my generation, thanks to crappy TV soaps like Neighbours and Home and Away, Australian) TV and movies, and have accents from all four British countries around us every day, so we get exposure to a very wide range of English from a young age. But up until perhaps recently, with the popularity of British TV shows like Doctor Who, The Office and Sherlock over there, I don't think it has worked the other way on a large scale, so I guess it's maybe sort of interesting from an American point of view.
Scotland might be an independent country by the time you visit, though. :'D There's a referendum next year. Haven't really made up my mind yet.
