It was mainly because the anime only follows the manga until so far then just ends abruptly. It would've made more sense if they ended up doing a second season, but they never did. All-in-all it's an entertaining anime, and it's worth watching IMO. Just be ready to be disappointed at the end.

I'm currently watching Natsume Yujin-cho. I'm actually enjoying it quite a bit. Especially Nyanko sensei.
