I think making fun of people who are trying to learn is silly. If they were never taught something during high school and would have had no reason to come across it during their daily lives, why should there be an expectation that they possess the same knowledge as you? Other than identifying what the continents were in 2nd grade, I don't think I ever learned anything about Asia or Africa.

That's really not being fair. If he's in a class to learn then he shouldn't be laughed at for doing so. It's different if he's one of those kids who are only in college because that's where you go after high school.

I can't really do anything more than basic addition and subtraction without a calculator, and even then I have trouble with larger numbers. (anything about 20 that isn't even I'd say) But I'm attempting to learn, and I'd be pretty butthurt if you laughed at me for it.

I should have phrased my post better. I know technically who they are. I figured Raj was the Indian dude, and that howard was the other one I couldn't remember the name of. I made it up the episode where they play some MMO (I think? It's the only one I remember properly) and they were in it. I just don't know anything about their characters or anything.

Ahhh, okay. Honestly, they're the two most interesting people in the show for me. Amy doesn't get introduced until season 3 (I think). She's essentially a female Sheldon.

I think I've said enough though. It's not a terrible show, but there isn't that much substance there unless you really dig for it.
