Wish Jazz was online. I have a tv that Google says just needs a capacitor replaced. I can do that, but I need to know if there's any procedure I need to do to dissipate any stored voltage before I stick my fingers in the power supply.

Leave the tv switched on and unplug it from mains power.

Leave it turned off for a few days.

Short the cap with a screwdriver...it'll damage it

Use a power resistor < maybe Jazz could help with this.

I just watched a YouTube vid of a chick doing the replacement.

    I can do it

Honestly, I've only ever bothered using the first and second things I listed. Mostly the first.
    Never got any huge shocks.

CRT's are the only thing I've ever had to be careful with.

So, my girlfriend just got a job, and she applied at the place 2 or 3 hours ago.

Good Lord. I wish I had that kind of luck.
