I've always seen the Tales series as the most cliché-ridden RPG series in existence and that the only reason people like them is because of the battle system. Right or wrong?![]()
Well...I wouldn't say you are wrong my Schweedish love.
Oh and to put all this in one post...

3 Vita games for me to pre-order were announced over the weekend. The IF is far from being for everyone but the two NISA is bringing over look really solid.

Strictly speaking, wrong. But you're most certainly right on some level. So... both, I guess? No one said that archetypes can't be done well. For example, I find the cast of my favorite Tales games (Graces, Destiny) to be really likable, even if they aren't super complex characters or anything. But usually the gameplay and battle system is what stands out in the better installments.

Suda51 Teams Up With Namco Bandai And Akira Creator For New PS3 Game
By Sato . July 9, 2013 . 2:52am
This week’s Japanese magazine leaks reports that Killer is Dead director Goichi Suda is working with Namco Bandai on an upcoming PlayStation 3 side-scrolling game, Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day.
The game is based on Akira creator Katsuhiro Otomo’s upcoming film, Short Peace, which will play in theaters later this month. The film is made up of four short films with different styles and stories, directed by Otomo and others. Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day will be considered the fifth short story of the film, but it’s a video game.
Goichi Suda, known for Killer is Dead and No More Heroes, is the scenario writer for the game. He will team up withTokyo Jungle director Yohei Kataoka who will be the directing the upcoming title. According to leaks, Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day is a 2D side-scrolling “high-speed effect action” game, that will require the use of “effects” to take out enemies. The game’s theme will be in a modern day Japan setting.
Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day is currently in development for PlayStation 3.

The arm looks weird, too. Like it's bent at an awkward angle.
Anyways, since we're sharing announcement trailers:
Release date is reportedly set for this fall, it's going to be an epilogue to the Futures trilogy (Tools of Destruction, Quest for Booty, A Crack in Time), and is supposedly being sold for $29.99 on Day 1. So it doesn't sound like a full-length title, but according to James Stevenson (Community Lead for Insomniac Games), "it’s not as long as ACIT, but it’s much much larger than Q4B or FFA." (Comments section of the Playstation Blog link below)
More information can be found:
IGN (they ramble a lot about the characters and story and whatnot here, so I skipped a lot of the article)

So I posted this in the hangout yesterday, but it should probably be in here. It's a somewhat interesting article about the state of AAA games.

Speaking of announcements, STEAM Summer sale is on!

It's that time of year again, when you can get games that you'll never play for dirt ass cheap! I still haven't touched half the games I got last summer from their sale. Oh well, it goes to a good cause I suppose![]()
Hmm, nothing I care about, not yet at least. Waiting for Dishonored to go 75% off, that's about it I think.![]()
