Yeah, I think the individual seasons on DVD (all trek) are around $20 each at my local JB Hi Fi, and a lot of the time they have a buy 2 get one free deal on the tv DVDs.
They also have 20% off DVD and BD sometimes, but that isn't as frequent.

TNG S1 on BD isn't all that expensive now, I think it was around $30 last time I looked.

1. Probably a porting thing, kind of like the Last of Us. Waste of more money if it doesn't sell well(prints insane money)
