Yeah that's how I always felt! The core gameplay, as in the shooting/movement mechanics, are absolutely the best in the series yet. The game scenarios are rather uneven at times though. The result of too many chefs spoiling the broth.

I'm playing the chapters in a random order, not just one campaign at a a time, so it adds some variety. Also yeah, the gameplay is neat. Quick shot was such a great addition, I usually abuse the shit out of it.

Tried mercenaries yet? That's where the gameplay really shines. Quick shot becomes super crucial to handle all the enemies creeping up on you. I really Helena's hydra 3-in-a-row quick shot! Super useful.

But the (what appears to be) gameplay! Zero shifting around looks awesome! I just hope it isn't scripted to hell and you actually get to move around like that yourself.

MAYBE! It shows promise at least. But so did FFXIII and look how that turned out. And I'm saying that as someone who liked FFXIII.

Best news for me as well. Plenty of import friendly titles out there that will never make it to the US. I shouldn't have to sink another $400 to gain access to another region.
