Was it not possible to fully port the msx game to the nes? Never heard the full story on that one.

    It was possible.

The dev team was just lazy.

And wanted free money for less work.

    Nintendo Quality Seals, eh?

This is interesting "The cover art of Metal Gear is based on a photo of Michael Biehn in character as Kyle Reese from The Terminator."

Apparently after looking deeper into the matter they were rushed to port the game to the nes in 3 months.
    .....Nintendo seal of quality indeed....

Think I've said this before. I'm all outta words.

I've only ever played the NES games. My brother had the PSX when we were kids, and I never heard of the Metal Gear games back then. By the time I knew anything about them, I had moved onto other systems.

I have a few horrible, horrible games that would agree with you.

I'm looking at you, Jekyll & Hyde.

You're crazy! Jekyll & Hyde is an underrated gem of a game. An instant classic if I may say so. Along the lines of such greats as Deadly Towers, Rambo, and Friday the 13th.

Also why does there have to be an influx of nicely priced NeoGeo MVS carts on NG.com when I am absolutely broke. Time to sell a kidney for some MVS kits.

They've got nothing on Nightmare on Elm Street or Total Recall, though. I can't wait for more copies of those games to come up on eBay. Big, big bucks, those ones.

I've noticed there seem to be a lot of copies of Flinstones 2: SADP on eBay lately. I'm not sure if it's just because I've been paying more attention, or if there are a lot of them being moved right now.

Actually never played Nightmare on Elm Street, but Total Recall...what a horrible game! Although I'd rather play that than movie cash-ins such as Predator, Mad Max, and Platoon. Actually pretty much every Hollywood blockbuster tie-in was incredibly horrible. I find it hard to even come up with one halfway decent one.

Yeah, I've actually not been looking at much NES stuff as of late. But an influx of any rare game is good for the buyer. Because it should essentially drive the overall price down. Oh, yeah I did notice that one Stadium Events that we all thought was fake "sold" for $1000+. I had totally forgotten about it until it got brought up on NG.com's WTF Auction thread. Reading on the seller's feedback it says that the seller tried to get the buyer to pay as a gift outside of eBay. What an obvious scam!

What's the appeal of owning neo geo karts/kits vs emulating?

Bragging rights that you have gaming carts the size of bricks
THE BEST METHOD to run PSX games (and everything else for that matter) is via Retroarch - http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/
If you have any questions on how to set it up on Windows please feel free to ask, its very easy.

You can build a house out of them.

Structurally, it's more sound than building a house of lego.

Not nearly as good as a house of gameboys and gamecubes though.
