Yeah, the PS2's video output isn't the best unfortunately. Component gives you a very detailed picture but in this case all it really does is emphasise how jaggy and filtered the image already is. See also: RGB modded N64.All of this is very true. The $ adds up in a hurry. When it's all said and done I'll still be playing PS1/2 on my CRT beast most of the time (this makes it so that I just have to have a PS2 hooked up to it). I know I ranted on it before but basically everything looks better than PS2 on an HDTV. Everything else will be with this set-up.
Edit: Random rambling here: I really wish that Saturn devs weren't worried about pumping out OMG TEH 3Dz games. Many of the 2D games on it look fantastic but they are too few in number. Saturn/PS1 3D is usually vomit inducing. Pre-rendered backgrounds look okay on PS1, that's about it. Also, Saturn looks SO much better than PS1. I wish the Saturn would have lasted as long and we could have seen what later releases would have looked like.

The game took me a while to acclimatize to it, but after a couple of the major decisions, I started to get pretty invested. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit, which I wasn't expecting. I would imagine if you get heavily invested in the lore, you'll absolutely love it.
I should go back and finish some of the DLC...

Ah well. That's the nature of living in Canada, I suppose. Maybe one day, when I'm wealthy and don't give a shit, I'll move to Washington state to take advantage of some of those "US only" sellers.
