Played a little bit of Bravely Default. They can call this by whatever name they want, but it's basically a modern attempt at a classic styled Final Fantasy. I'd hesitate to make any definitive statements about its quality yet being that I play games sloooooowly, and I'm only a tiny ways in, but I have no complaints so far! All the pieces are in the right places, and it really does feel like a missing chapter from the Final Fantasy games of yore. The visuals are really pretty and the character designs are super-adorable, the job system is as fun to tinker with as it was in Final Fantasy V / Tactics, there are some welcome concessions made to modern design sensibilities (a fast forward button for slow turn based animations is an awesome idea~), and it's actually quite difficult, but in a fair, well balanced sort of way. Oh, the music is super-good, too, and definitely worth a listen~

Right now, what I'm most curious about is the fact that here in Japan, the game has a Cero C rating. This is pretty rare for JRPGs, and generally indicates some fairly mature content, which would be a surprising twist given the fairly ordinary sort of opening to the game's story. Interested to see where it goes as it goes on... assuming I actually play that far. :'D
