Awesome pic.
Lots are haphazard tbh. Sometimes they got for too little but sometimes they end up going for more than they should for the convenience (assuming the games are related, though I have seen some unrelated game lots go for too much when all the games are REALLY sought after). It depends on the kind of people bidding on it I suppose.
Pretty much. I plan on doing two lots of "randoms" and include a few popular titles in each lot to help move the shittier games (sports titles mostly), then list the DW games separately, then a lot of boxed games and empty boxes. If I sell 'em I sell 'em, if not I'll combine whatever is left into one lot and see what it goes for. They're just taking up space now, and nothing is uncommon enough to bother holding on to.
Devious. I do that with Magic cards when I sell them.
Oh and if you start low enough it will always sell. Personally I like to start at a value I am comfortable with if it goes for the starting bid.
Seems like it should work. And yeah, I hadn't decided on a starting price yet, but my plan was pretty much setting a starting price about 10-20% lower than I'd like it to go for. If I get $40 for something instead of $50 then I'm fine with that, but if I get $20 for something instead of $50 then I'd be pretty pissed. There will be fewer bids on 'em in the long run, but they'll go for a a price that I'm okay with.
Oh it's effective. Just make sure to showcase the good ones.
And yeah I just look at what stuff usually sells for and go from there. Ignoring flukey bins from stupid sellers of course.
I never understood some of those BIN prices, even though I know I'm at fault for overspending sometimes. For example, there's someone who wants $150 for a CIB copy of Adventure Island 3 right now. I can't imagine anyone who wants to spend that kind of money on that game, but I know eventually it's going to sell, because fuck logic.
Which reminds me... I should really get around to finishing some of my series of games. I still have to grab Bases Loaded 4, a couple of Adventure Island games, Ninja Gaiden 3...![]()
Well sometimes people just have really insane BINs or Amazon listings and hope to get lucky. I've spoke with a couple people about that. There are also a couple of other cases, one is someone is showing off something rare that they own, and would obviously take the retarded price they are asking for it. The other is acting like they are trying to sell it because their significant other wants them to sell stuff, knowing full well it likely won't sell for that price.
Magic Knight Rayearth is really bad right now but I'm trying to be patient on it. Mainly because it's not a good game, it's just somewhat rare (under 10k copies iirc).
Yeah, gotta catch em all! Lol.
I've noticed that with some of the really rare items for NES games. They'll put out a retarded BIN price with a "Make an Offer" button out there to get a gauge of where the market for the game is right now. If someone is willing to pay their retarded BIN price, they'll obviously sell it, but otherwise they're just getting an idea of where the market is right now.
They can also be used as a good "check out my store!" item, to lure people into checking out the other stuff they sell. They might not by the ridiculously overpriced rare item, but maybe they'll see the somewhat cheaper common item that they're selling and buy that.
