"So, should we hire the kid fresh out of high school?"
"Well, he'll probably know a bit about the games. What was the other option?"
"The girl."
"How hot was she?"
"Meh. A six, maybe."
"A six? Fuck, that'll bring the nerds out of the woodwork. They'll be lining up around the block to drool at her snaggle-tooth! Sign her up, baby, we're gonna be rich!"
Your six has a snaggle tooth?
Wow, talk about Gamespot rankings.
In all seriousness, Gamestop is a retail store, not a gamer haven. Just because she doesn't play games doesn't mean she isn't qualified to work there. She will probably be even better for the corporate environment because she doesn't have "gamer loyalties" causing her to buck the commands coming down from head office because she doesn't approve of what they're doing to the games market.
Wait... sorry, what I meant was, "yeah, fuck those guys. Douches."
(That being said there's this totally hot chick that works at the Gamestop at the mall, and she totally wants to bang me, 'cause she talked to me once when I was buying games, and I damn near creamed my pants. Hhhhnnnggggggghhhhh)
I had that happen once.
She was all "tee hee, I love that game! Have you played the other ones? So great! Have you heard about the sequel coming out soon?"
Of course when it did I was awake for like 3 days and probably reeked of stale potato chips. As I recall I was also mildly intoxicated.
So I was all "durr...uh...I liek gaems".
Then paid for my shit and left.
Social awkwardness, ahoy!
I did something very similar, but replace "stale potato chips" with "stale cigarette stank." If memory serves, I might have also been in there with a couple of friends, some of whom may have been... less than savoury looking.
And by that, I mean smelly ass punks who hadn't showered in days.
WHY DO I TALK TO THESE PEOPLE
lol.
Well, they hire wimminz as executives and as game journalists solely because they're women. Basically, if they can be "seen" by the customers, it would be better for them to be female. And I don't think that's exclusive to game stores, women are usually preferred in most other stores as well.
excluding the charm factor, they are also more willing to take orders as drag said, and they are less likely to expect rises or better conditions etc. if I'm not mistaken.
Where I live, woman are paid significantly less than men, so they're preferred in any job.

You're the boss.
Whoops, forgot to unstick.
And forgot my hat.
