What is canon? It's supposed to be after the original trilogy.

Could have sworn they mentioned the kids - at least the twins anyways. From what I read, can't remember where but I assume most shit posted around the net is speculation anyways.

Also no one can claim he doesn't accept the expanded universe since that's exactly what they're going to do even if it's different I can't believe any writers on board wouldn't draw upon aspects from what's been written the last 20-30 years.
