I think a lot of it is because the Cell processor is really, really shit at multi-tasking. I only download overnight or when I'm not using the console for anything else.

Thing I've downloaded quickly on the 360 took hours on the PS3. Really annoying.
Oh God, Doom 3 has not age that great.
I thing I need to take a break from shooters and move onto something else.![]()
Dont mind me, just posting an attachment for myself.PSX-PSP Old Compat List.zip
If I hadn't attached it, it would be deleted after awhile. I just don't know where to use it atm.
Listening to a lot of music that I haven't in a long time. Currently Cake: Fashion Nugget.
So what would all you mods say to me creating a PS3 vs Xbox 360 thread....
I'm trying to decide what one to buy but would like feedback from those here who own one or both console. But at the same time don't want to start a raging flamer.
Oh if you download a vita game on the ps3 can you play it on the ps3? I know noobish question.
AS IT IS WRITTEN SO SHALL IT BE DONE!
Guess it's as good a place as any.
Ok so the only reason I haven't made the plunge is mainly because of how much $$$ they cost vs. how not durable they are. I like to know that if I'm gonna dump a couple hundred bucks to maybe a grand on something that it's gonna hold up for more than a year.
I enjoy exclusive games on both consoles like Mass Effect for 360 and God of War for PS3 so I'm stuck as far as that goes. And also I was wondering if the newer (slim) editions of the consoles are any less likley RROD and YLOD. One more thing is I don't really plan on playing online at all so that part doesn't really sway me one way or another as well.
If I understand correctly, underneath the title on the store screen it usually states what systems it works for.
For example, I just checked FFT, and it says it works on PSP / PS Vita. Some of them will say PS Vita, some of them will say PS3, and some of them will say PS3 / PS Vita. It's all kind of a mishmash of everything. As far as I'm aware PSP games won't work unless it specifically states PS3.
It's hard to say. The slims seem to be pretty good and don't have the failure rates of the old fattys. Personally I like the 360 controller better (just slightly) because of the spaced out sticks and the triggers. Of course if you just get a basic slim 360 you'll have to shell out more for a plug and play pack. 360 bundles are generally cheaper though and if you went with a higher priced bundle I think they come with it anyways. PS+ of course has free games and it's only 50 bucks for a year. The determining factor for me this year was the possibility of ps+ and wanting to be able to play with EPers which after a month I still haven't done...
If you're not taking it online then the slowness of the ps3 for the store/downloading that was mentioned just before isn't an issue. But who knows you may end up taking it online eventually.
The couple of games I've played that have been cross platform like RE5 and New Vegas looked ever so slightly better on the 360 as well.
