I was a bit like that when I was younger, especially when I was a kid.
Always ate heaps, and all kinds of stuff that makes you fat (and is probably bad for you).
I can still eat heaps, but chocolate is probably the only thing I gorge myself on
Still smoke cigs, so it's not as if I'm a health nut or anything![]()
I'm trying to figure out how much I should spend on my next order of games to clear out some common titles. Next paycheque is the one with my vacation pay on it, and I'm expecting ~$2000.
Also, I just realized that I bought the same game twice in my last two orders when filling out common titles.I really need to start paying more attention.
Speaking of work, I wouldn't mind managing that skate & surf shop this coming summer. 40 hours a week and all the skateboarding I can handle ON THE CLOCK. Its only $10 an hour, but I had nothing but fun and I felt that people appreciated me.
I feel like I can find an entrance-level position for more cash and less time, like you said. Oh well, I just have to keep looking. Its gonna be nice when I can eat something other than ramen.![]()
Yeah, if you're working all the time (like back when I was doing shift work) you have little time to pick up bargains, plus you really can't be bothered most of the time...so you end up saying "fuck it" and just paying whatever for stuff just so you have it.
A balance between work (with a decent income) and free time is best really.
It's easier to spend more wisely.
Well, as long as you can control your spending anyway![]()
I keep forgetting that I can show up at the library and sort through some old computer components to simply take. The attic (where I spent the majority of my internship) is packed FULL of neat-o looking stuff that was replaced with newer things for the patrons. A great deal of it is older than me but I never got a chance to browse. Lets hope I find an Apple ][ when I get a chance to look.![]()
Pretty much my life exactly. I've been scouring eBay lately since I've had so much spare time to do so. I don't really have a lot of expenses -- I'm not a heavy drinker, now that I've quit smoking I'm saving a bunch of money, I buy a lot of discounted stuff, etc -- so I really do have a bunch of money I can spend on stuff. I make ~$31K/year working 20-24 hours a week (average)... yeah, I'm not rolling in the money, but it's definitely enough to pay all of my bills and spend an ungodly amount on stuff I don't need.
I still do succumb to the "fuck it, pay whatever" mentality sometimes, but that's usually only when I really want something and most of the deals I'm finding will only save me $10-$20, but would require more than thirty minutes worth of work out of me to acquire (rebates, driving to a special location, having to wait on an online order, etc).
I'm jealous. All my library has is books.![]()
