Have you gotten that legends pack? I heard batista was in it lol

Never played a wrestling game online before
Polizzi, the game doesn't have season mode / Road to Wrestlemania; the main story plays off as a timeline and is named "Attitude Era", so yeah, it's pretty old school. As WWE cater to a younger generation these days, the developers wanted to give them an insight into what the hype was all about in the industry, such as the Monday Night Wars and the importance of wrestlers such as Bret Hart, The Rock, Stone Cold amongst others - who kids aren't really in tune with today - over Cena, Orton and Punk, the latter being a key influence for this title. The developers even enlisted the help of Paul Heyman, chairman of ECW lol.

I think the legends pack your referring to was part of WWE 12. I've never owned it but I know Batista is included in one of the packs in that game. As for 13, Batista is not official dlc, but it's funny you should mention him because I downloaded him earlier today from community creations (it's where players can upload there own characters, arenas, etc. for free). I felt he was a crucial person missing from the game and the guy who made him didn't do too much of a shoddy job, although there was still a little bit of editing required, the overpowered stats being one.

Official DLCs tend to be released in bunches but thankfully you can purchase each character individually, and doing so will unlock their respective entrances and movesets.

This was my first time playing a wrestling game online, too. There was noticeable lag for me but I got used to it after a couple of minutes.

    Gimme a hell yeah!

This is easily the best wrestling game I've played and it all boils down to the content. Ministry Undertaker has been released as free DLC as well, which I got today, on top of Rikishi, Scotty 2 Hotty (the worm!), and Natalya, AJ Lee and Ryback to keep things relevant each at 59p a pop.

The way you pull off moves is even more varied than the last time I played (SvR10) and the modes I haven't taken them all in yet. The Attitude Era mode features reenactments, commentary and clips from the actual shows and was nice to watch. I felt like I was playing a different game at the time, there's quite a difference in the transition from the old dusty-looking arenas to the HD set-ups and current stars they have today.

Here's what the character select screen looks like:

DLC have their own section and the women come under the "Divas" box and include the likes of Trish Stratus, the short-lived Kharma / Awesome Kong, 2 Litas, and Stephanie McMahon amongst others.

The definite roster can be viewed here. I can name but a few that are missing in my books, however, they can just be created or downloaded as I mentioned before.

So yeah, Polizzi and Cosmic, you should get this shit. It's so easy to spend 40 minutes on a match that could have ended after 5, but you were to busy using different ways to dismantle your opponent.

I'd say WWE 14 has a lot of living up to do because the games have a reputation of decreasing in quality the next installment up before they improve again. Plus, we'll see where they go now that THQ are bankrupt.

Speaking of the winter sale, Resonance is now one of the flash deals, goes for pocket change. If you want a pretty good point & click game, get it. The plot also has a crazy twist near the end that made me go all wtf. It's a memorable game for that alone.

Awww, I must have just missed it. I would totally have grabbed that game... I love the old point and click games. I might just have to grab it anyway if it's really worth it!

It's not the best game evarr or anything, but it was a pretty fun ride. And like I said, there was a certain point in the story that genuinely took me off guard. Still worth it with the 50% off imo. Same goes for the Blackwell Bundle.

Sweet, thanks Gare - will check into them for sure. If you know of any other newer point and clickers keep me informed. That genre is all but dead.

It's hardly dead, just not mainstream anymore. There's also Gray Matter from last year, by the creator of Gabriel Knight. Has a fantastic ambient soundtrack and atmospheric visuals, and an above average plot. It might not be a classic, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. Thought it was a fairly interesting/emotional story.

Oh, and I heard good things about Gemini Rue but haven't played it myself.

I forgot all about Gray Matter - the original Gabriel Knight is one of, if not my favorite point and click of all time. I heard Jane Jensen had a successful kickstarter not too long ago to make a new P&C game, so here's hoping that turns out well..... still wish she'd make a new Gabriel Knight game though.... the last one was a pretty big letdown.

I've just came across this and thought I'd post it here if I can. It contains reasoning that I do not want to argue with lol.

Are you talking about Yunalesca? I and about half a million others share your pain. If I recall correctly, she is vulnerable to poison status which should make things easier. The same can be said about Seymour Flux who you struggled on before. So have Rikku use a Poison Fang, Wakka use one of his [status] Buster moves or Lulu franticly cast Bio until the effect sticks.

She's not the last boss either lol.

REMEMBER: DO NOT leave the room when you beat her. Go to the back of the room, there are some secret stairs; go down them and grab the Sun Crest needed for Tidus' best weapon. If you insist on seeing what happens if your try to re-enter the room, save your game beforehand.

Once you beat her, I'd say you're halfway through the game. Without giving away to much of a spoiler, it's a good thing because the game opens up more and you can do more things, quest-wise and such.

Well, in terms of completion, you'd be half way; storywise I'd say over three-quarters. It's worth doing the other stuff like obtaining the celestial weapons, aeons, monster hunting and defeating the superbosses, not just for the sense of satisfaction but because the rewards for doing so will make the game more enjoyable. Blitzball took up a lot of my time, too. I had the game for three years before I finally decided to suck it up and complete it.

No new game plus either, I believe that feature was introduced in X-2.

    aw

i always did enjoy blitzball though

i hate when i get tired of the story for a bit and look for the game bit it's grayed out, like before the yunalesca and that zanarkand puzzle bossfight

it took me a few games to get used to how to do it, but i learned how to break through a chracter efficiently without having to deal with the others immediately

    cheating ronsos
